“The sun goes up....the sun goes down.” Fundamental truths about life, and words that New Jersey songwriter, Kevin Hill, tells his two young sons as they fall asleep. He reassures them that no matter what twists and turns lay ahead, that they are loved and that everything will always be alright. The track was written and performed by Hill, featuring his diverse skills as a guitarist and vocalist. While known as a fixture in the Asbury Park music scene as the leader of the funk/jam group Secret Sound, this is Hill’s first solo release and a wonderful display of his guitar and writing skills. Hill is an advocate for the importance of mental health and for those who struggle with substance addiction, and uses this song not only to serve as a lesson to his children, but also as a reminder to himself that life is precious and that we all deserve a bright future.
